Civil Engineering is a division of engineering which is concerned with the building planning, designing, construction and maintenance. It is one of the oldest engineering subjects and the largest field of Engineering. Civil engineering field of work comprises of industrial plant, buildings, transmission tower/lines, water works, river navigation, airport runways, power plants, irrigation canals, traffic control, dams, shipping canal, bridges, rail-roads, sewers and highways. A Civil engineer requires not only a high standard of engineering knowledge but also supervisory and administrative skills. Civil engineers work in teams in coordination with many other engineers.
The department of civil engineering is started in 2012 TIT & S. Typically a BE in Civil engineering is a four year course, minimum eligibility for which is intermediate (10+2) with subjects such as a physics, mathematics and chemistry. Total intake of BE civil engineering is 120. The department has highly qualified and dedicated faculties who strives to produce competent professionals who are abreast with the latest technology and has laboratories which are enterprising skills necessary for a designer and also for a site engineer. Laboratories provide good facilities for teaching, field testing and research works in Civil engineering. Department ensures regular updating of the curriculum of all courses in consultation with industries and academician.
Civil engineers are in great demand to uphold and repair current facilities and structures and to construct new buildings. There are a lot of career opportunities in the field. Graduates after completion of their course can seek employment in Government sectors, Public sectors, Construction companies, Consultancy firms, Quality testing labs, Road projects and Building works. Civil engineering graduates can also opt for research work or they can start their own independent consultancy services. Professionals in this career can also opt for teaching jobs in universities and college. Skilled professionals in this field are in high demand in developed countries. Middle Eastern countries offer good job opportunities where Civil engineers can reap the benefit of opportunities owing to the number of ongoing construction projects.

Workshop on Foundation Analysis
Two days national workshop on Foundation Analysis was conducted by Department of Civil engineering at TIT & Science under the guidance of Innovation cell UMIC IIT Bombay.
Two days’ workshop & hands on practice was conducted in which students learnt technical concept involved in Structural Engineering & Foundation Analysis, interpretation of Structural Engineering and soil investigation data for design of soil foundation.
CESL WORKSHOP ON AUTOCAD FOR 5th SEM STUDENTS
15 days autocad workshop is organised every year for 5th sem students by Civil engineering department. The workshop included detail study and practice of autocad software and also enlightened the students to use cad software for planning of residential building. Students were awarded with certificates at the end of workshop.
Geological Site Visit
Visits by Civil Engineering students of TIT & Science to provide the students basic concepts of Civil Engineering Constructions and Engineering Geology
Each and every year a major field trip to geological sites is conducted by civil engineering department of TIT & S. The aim of field trip was to demonstrate the importance of engineering geology and witness the real scale of geological features.
Construction Site Visit
A visit to construction site was organized by civil engineering department of TIT & Science. Faculties and construction engineers impart the students with the basic introduction of how construction process takes place by explaining various stages of construction works.
