The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is offering undergraduate & Postgraduate Engineering degree programs with a view to provide quality education to numerous worthy young fellows as well as to meet the huge demand of highly qualified Engineers in the field. All the faculty members in the department are Ph.D, M.Tech and some of them are pursuing Ph.D. from IIT’S and NIT’S. The Department has excelled in the performance of students, some of whom having obtained 80% marks and above in their annual examinations under the guidance of well qualified and experienced Professors. Today rapidly growing technology and the continuous demand in the field of Computer Science and Engineering, Department intake increased by 120 students in the year 2008. Currently the Department has nearly 600 students on its roll. The Post-Graduate Program in Computer Science & Engineering also started in 2011 with an intake of 18 students which is increased to 24 in 2016 in the statutes of the RGPV University, Bhopal. The Computer Science and Engineering Department has CSI student chapter, IEEE student chapter and Various Student chapter like ACM Chapter, ISTE chapter are in the process to open in the department. Department also have Internet access facility. The department offers excellent computing facility through latest configuration computer systems, advance servers, multimedia kits, leading software, 24×7 internet facility etc. The student computer ratio is one to one. To develop our students’ globally-competitive, distinguished professional from Industries, Researchers, Expert Speakers and Guest Professors are periodically invited to share their knowledge and expertise with us. Students are always motivated to join various technical and non technical societies and forums.

Our Department has a three-sided mission: to create knowledge, to disseminate knowledge and to provide service to our communities. In the last twenty years, computer science has grown from a somewhat obscure academic discipline into one of the driving forces of technological advance. From antilock brakes to airbags, secondary oil recovery to weather prediction, advanced imaging technology to digital enhancement in the cinema, computation is changing the world in which we live. Contrary to popular belief, the job market in computer science and information technology is robust and growing. Over the next several decades, computer scientists will continue to reshape the world in which we live. The Department of Computer Science & Engg. was established in 2007 with an intake of 60 students which is increased to 120 in 2008 in the statutes of the RGPV University, Bhopal with an objective to meet the increasing demand for high-quality IT professionals. Since inception, three batches have passed out with flying colors from the Department. A number of students placed in several reputed companies like Accenture, TCS, Haxaware, IBM and so many. The Post-Graduate Program in Computer Science & Engineering Also started in 2011 with an intake of 18 students which is increased to 24 in 2013 in the statutes of the RGPV University, Bhopal. The Department has state of the art infrastructure and computing equipment supported by high speed Ethernet and wireless networks. The Department maintains four computing laboratories exclusively for the use of students and faculty members. They also have Internet access facility. The Department has CSI student chapter, IEEE student chapter and Various Student chapter like ACM Chapter, ISTE chapter are in the process to open in the Department. The department has developed its own laboratories in areas of Language Lab, Linux Lab, Multi-media Lab, Project Lab and Computer Network Lab. The department has developed its own Digital Library according to University syllabus. There is a server center equipped with various PC-server systems for providing network facilities to the laboratories. The department provides internet facilities to Professors and students

Two Days National Level Workshop on “Web Development”
A Two Days National Level Workshop on “Web Development” was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with NSSC-IIT MADRAS and wingfotech Pvt. Ltd on 19-20, February 2017. In this work shop 65 students participated from different engineering colleges of Madhya Pradesh. In this workshop 15 Students were short listed for IIT MADRAS Utkraanti-2018. This workshop covered basics of web development through the PHP. Basically workshop was focused on how the web page can be designed with the use of template available in PHP. They also explained about all the steps which are essential for the web development process and how to register the website on the server and how domain is assigned to websites.

One Day Workshop on “Cyber Security”
A One Day Workshop on “Cyber Security” was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with Rajiv Gandhi Produogiki Vishwavidyalaya Bhopal (M.P.) NSSC-IIT KHARAGPUR and wingfotech Pvt. Ltd on 15-16, November 2017. “Cyber Security Awareness Workshop” started with familiarization to Information Security and need of information security in financial institutions. Various techniques such as Advanced Persistent Threat (APT), Social Engineering and Denial of Services attacks were discussed with real-time examples. Attackers manipulate these techniques to victimize their target and obtain critical information. The session on “Cryptography” discussed the use of available encryption and decryption techniques with the real-time demo on why and how much difference it can make to secure critical information of any institutions/organization even if we become victim of an attacker.
Technical Seminar on Android by HCL
A technical seminar on mobile development kit (MDK) part of J2EE (Java Enterprise edition). The guest faculty from HCL motivated and guided the students about today’s era of advanced technology. Mr. Anuj Vyas – lead programmer and mentor of HCL educated the students about the current development in the field of Android Technology and thus offered two days free classes for all the students of CS & IT of TIT & Science. The purpose of the event was to motivate & guide the students regarding the current scenario in the market of Software Development & Computer Science and to tell the importance of being updated in the field of Development.
Expert Lecture on IT Security by Appin Tech
An expert lecture on digital security & Ethical hacking was organized by the Computer Science Department. The guest speaker Mr. Prashant Tiwari (MD, Appin Tech) motivated and guided the students about today’s era of advanced technology. He elucidated the students about the current development in the field of IT security &* explained the students about the current scenario of the industry & the need of developers to the country in the field of Network & IT Security.
The purpose of the event was to motivate & guide the students regarding the current scenario in the market of computer, where there is a massive need of security expert and to tell the importance of being updated in the field of Security, since there is no Recession in the market for an erudite person of Security.
On the auspicious day of Birthday of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the Teachers day was organized by the students of V Semester Computer Science on a grand scale in respect & gratitude for the Respected Teachers & Dignitaries, where they all were being involved in various activities & their blessings was enshowered to the students personally & by their video messages provided for the Students.
Students were made to realize the true spirit of being an Engineer. Honorable Director Mr. A.S Umesh and concerned HODs enlightened students about the various fields in engineering and career development. An essay writing and poster making competition was held where students willingly participated and showcased their talents and thus were judged and awarded.
The purpose of the event was to explore the capabilities of the student and make them participate in co-curricular activities in various art fields.
Blood Donation Camp
In Collaboration with BMHRC, Bhopal, we organized a blood donation Camp in TIT & S campus, where in the guidance of Director sir & HOD’s the Student supervisors held an event where almost 150 units of blood was donated by the students & the main purpose was to fulfill the need of blood in Bhopal to the Cancer & Thalassemia patients need could be fulfilled.
The purpose of the event was to encourage the good spirit within the student of helping others & for the sake of the good cause for cancer & thalassemia patients, so that many lives could be saved by doing the noble deed.
