The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering began its journey in June 2011 at Technocrats Institute of Technology & Science with 60 students and upgraded to 120 intake in 2013. It is one of the most important departments in the institute. It offers unique opportunities for education and innovation. The department has made rapid strides during the last 2 year in all spheres of education. Our graduate program has always been known as one of the best engineering graduate programs of the Institute. Our curriculum enables students to learn techniques required to solve complex Electrical Engineering problems of industries and power sector. At the same time it equips them with managerial and professional skills. We provide a very informal atmosphere between faculty and students. Electrical and Electronics department has always been known for creating an ambience. Department have young and highly qualified faculty members having tremendous potential to change the traditional way of thinking about engineering education, pedagogy and research excellence. This technical militia is being provided by Electrical and Electronics Engineering stream.Learning is a continuous process and does not end with the acquisition of a degree. Basic Electrical & Electronics Engineering Lab Basic Electrical & Electronics engineering Lab is equipped with Transformer, DC Motor/Generator Set, Induction Motor to assess performance through different testings under on load as well as off load conditions. Students gain basic knowledge of AC Power.
Electrical Machine Lab Electrical Machines Lab is equipped with Single Phase transformer, Three Phase transformer,Single Phase Induction Motor, Three Phase Induction Motor and Alternator to assess their performances under different operating conditions of industries and power system.
Electrical and Electronics Measuring Instruments Lab This Laboratory incorporates the basic knowledge of Electrical and Electronics Measuring Instruments. which helps the student to understand different behavioural charaterstics of these instruments.
Tawa Hydro Electric Power Plant, Hoshangabad, (M.P)
Industrial visit to Tawa Hydro Electric Power Plant on 10th Feb. 2018 for 4th semester students was conducted. Around 50 students along with 2 faculty members visited this plant. Tawa Hydro Electric Project is in Madhya Pradesh, District Hoshangabad on River Tawa. The total installed capacity is 13.5 MW. The students learned about the working of hydro power plant.
Shree Control Equipments, Govindpura, Bhopal
A one day industrial visit to Shree Control Equipments, Govindpura, Bhopal on 22.09.2017 was organized by the department. Students visited Sheet Metal, Coil Manufacturing & Assembly Shop. Students got theoverview of the manufacturing of Master Controller, Dynamic Break Resistor(DBR), Electromagnetic Contractors, Speed Controller, Electromagnetic Relays and Electro Pneumatic system used in diesel locomotives.
Visit was organized on 29th Sep.2016. At CPRI students learned about the relays circuit breaker, MCB & testing of all protecting equipments. Student get to know the practical knowledge of testing of equipments & distribution transformer.
HEG HYDEL POWER PLANT, HOSHANGABAD
Organized by the Department for the students of 5th sem. During the visit the student came to know about the turbines , the head & how the water is used to generate electrical power.
Expert lecture on PLC & SCADA
It is a software tool used in power system substation & in automation industry. All the calculative data & the computation are done by using this software. This software has ease many issues arising in power system related to controlling of signals.
Teacher’s Day Celebration
Teaches’ Day as a mark of tribute to the contribution made by teachers to the society. 5th September is the birthday of a great teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer of education, and was the well-known diplomat, scholar, President of India and above all a Teacher. Teachers day was celebrated on 5 sept 2016 in the department. “ A good teacher is like a candle – it consumes itself to light the way for others.”
Electrical and Electronics Department had organized an expert talk by Mr. M.K.Dubey, Rtd. General Manager, HEG Pvt. Ltd. Bhopal, M.P. on the topic “Preparation of Graphite Electrodes”. Graphite electrodes are used mainly in electric arc furnace steel production. They are presently the only products available that have the high levels of electrical conductivity and the capability of sustaining the extremely high levels of heat generated in this demanding environment. Graphite electrodes are also used to refine steel in ladle furnaces and in other smelting processes. The expert talk was beneficial for IIIyr. and II year students.
One day workshop was conducted on Industrial Automation (in PLC, SCADA, VFD, HMI) by AutoSys for students of the department.
National level competitions technical, sports, culturalAman Pillay (EX Dept.) participated as incharge commander and Suman Singh (EX Dept.) participated as a part of contingent in 26th January, 2019 parade from Air Wing No. 2 MP AIR SQN BHOPAL got 1st prize in this parade.

The development of a country is determined by the amount of per capita energy consumption. As far as Electrical Engineering is concerned, we encounter its presence after every step. The birth of maglav trains, miniaturization of devices, higher efficiency achieved are all related in one way or other to Electrical Engineering and Technology. Electrical Energy is making life simpler, better, faster, sophisticated, eco-friendly and is widening new horizon of its applications. With the infrastructural development in the country on its peak the future of electrical engineers is looking very promising and job opportunities are growing.
