A Night That Feels Alive
Reflections on the eve of a new chapter
“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” – Seneca
Tonight feels different, somehow alive with every emotion.
To the reader, you may ask how.
Tomorrow, I sit for my very first campus placement drive with SAP Labs. The air feels heavier, my thoughts are louder, and my heart is beating just a little faster. The excitement, the zeal, the nervousness, the fear, the dream, the journey, it’s all alive in me tonight. It’s strange how one night can hold so many emotions together.
Tomorrow marks the beginning of my placement journey. The day I have been preparing for, worrying about, and dreaming of. Tonight feels like a pause between two chapters, the quiet space where tomorrow holds my test, my placements, my next beginning.
When I look back, I see a trail of assignments, classroom laughs, shared struggles, and endless memories. Tomorrow is uncertain, but tonight reminds me of how far I’ve already come.
But amidst all this, one thought stands out. What really matters is not comparing myself with others.
In placements, it’s so easy to peek at others, their moves, their glow, their confidence, and feel that wobble inside. But hey, every soul has its own map, every shoe its own scuffs and miles. No one knows the roads you have crossed but you. So I keep my eyes on my lane, dancing with my own footsteps. My only rival is yesterday’s me.
Tonight, I carry gratitude in my heart, courage in my mind, and hope in my eyes. Because tomorrow, no matter what happens, I will give my best, and that is what truly matters.
